Mother & Son Write Condolence Cards to Grieving Families
Kristi Hay knows all too well what it feels like to lose a child. Her own son, Aidan, died in her arms just days after being born. Kristi, a labor & delivery nurse at Saint Thomas Rutherford, has turned her grief into a way of helping others going through the same experience and she’s not doing it alone. With the help of her 13-year-old son Callum, the two decided to write condolence cards to other grieving families going through the loss of a child. Kristi writes one to the parents. Callum writes one to the siblings.
Kristi says working as a nurse on labor & delivery, she can immediately help console a family by simply being there. She’s there to help answer questions. She’s there for moral support. She’s there because she understands.
