Foster care youth becomes first in family to attend college
Derrius Quarles is a product of the Illinois foster care system and the south side of Chicago. His father was murdered when he was 4, and he was taken away from his mother at the age of 5. Despite facing those obstacles, he accumulated over 1.1 million dollars in scholarships and financial aid. He is the first in his family to attend college.
